Wisatawan Asing Capai 4,039 Juta Orang

ImageJakarta - Sejak Januari hingga Juli 2010, tercatat 4,039 juta warga asing yang melancong ke Indonesia. Jumlah ini meningkat 13,49 persen dibandingkan periode yang sama tahun lalu. Hal itu dikata Deputi Direktur Wilayah ASEAN Kementerian Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata (Kemenbudpar) Chrismiastutie di Jakarta, Kamis (2/9/2010).

Ia mengatakan, kenaikan itu terbilang signifikan pada era peralihan dan pemulihan krisis global di mana tercatat jumlah wisman Januari-Juli 2010 sebanyak 4.039.020 orang atau naik dibanding periode yang sama tahun lalu sebesar 3.558.887 orang.

Toba Lake region holding great tourism potentials

The statement was made by the head of Samosir`s tourism office, Melani Butar Butar, here Wednesday.

She said the natural and cultural wealth of Samosir district held many things that would attract tourists because it was located on an island in Toba Lake.

Jakarta airport expansion needs to accelerate

Jakarta Airport Soekarno HattaJakarta - An aviation expert has urged the Indonesian government and airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II, to speed up the expansion of Jakarta’s Soekarno Hatta International Airport, in anticipation of the growing number of air travellers in the country over the coming years. Suharto Masjid, from the Indonesian Transportation Society (MTI), the current rate of growth of passenger demand will far outstrip the airport’s handling capability in the next decade.

“I predict that the number of passengers will grow in a range between five and 10 million a year. The airport will serve over 60 million passengers in 2015 and more than 75 million in 2020,” Masjid was quoted saying.
