Minister of Transportation and Bali Governor Review I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Readiness Ahead of the G20 Summit

BALI – Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport received the arrival of the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and the Governor of Bali Province I Wayan Koster on the airport readiness review agenda ahead of the 2022 G20 Bali Summit (G20 Bali Summit) which will be held on November 15-16.

In the review agenda which was held on Friday (07/10) morning, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya and Governor Koster reviewed the progress of the VVIP Building construction at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. The VVIP building is a facility that is used as a transit location and to welcome delegates like heads of state and heads of government of countries participating in the G20 Summit shortly after landing in Bali.

In his statement, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya stated the important role of the VVIP Building at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in welcoming the delegates of the G20 Bali Summit participants. “Within 3.5 months, the building that has become a new pride for Bali is now almost finished. As the first meeting point, we must present a place that is so elegant, so neat, so that this is the impression of Bali as the pride of Indonesia,” said the Minister of Transportation. Budi Karya.

“Currently it has been 99%, and is expected to be completed in the near future, and we receive guests with excellent readiness,” he continued.

On the same occasion, Governor Koster also expressed his appreciation for the construction of the VVIP Building at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. “The VVIP building at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport from its architecture and overall concept, in my opinion, this building is extraordinary, world class, by combining local and modern wisdom. It fits with Bali’s position as a major world tourist destination, as a venue for local events. as well as internationally, especially what we are preparing for, namely the G20 Presidency,” said Governor Koster.

The construction of the VVIP Building is one part of the infrastructure revitalization project at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in order to support the implementation of the G20 Bali Summit. In addition to the construction of the New VVIP Building, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport which is managed by PT Angkasa Pura I also participated in revitalizing the existing VIP Building, beautifying the International Terminal and General Aviation Terminal (GAT), as well as constructing Solar Power Plants (PLTS) at three points with 155 kilowatt peak (kWp) capacity.
