14 Teams Participate in the DESIGN OF THINKING STPreneur Held by  Poltekpar  Bali

NUSA DUA|PARADISO INDONESIA – The Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar) always supports its students to become entrepreneurs after completing their education at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic. This effort has consistently been carried out to this day, which is always preceded by a workshop to attract prospective interested parties who want to build a business.

This time the Bali Poltekpar under the Entrepreneurship & Career Guidance Unit held a DESIGN OF THINKING STPreneur WORKSHOP which was held at the MICE Widyatula Building, 10-11 March 2023 and was attended by 14 teams.

The two-day workshop was officially opened by the Director of the Bali Poltekpar, represented by Vice Director 1, Drs. I Wayan Muliana, M.Ed on Friday (10/3/23) by presenting speakers including Made Artana, Owner of PT. Bali Soket Informindo / Founder of STIMIK Primakara, Dr. Carolina Novi Mustikarini, M.Sc.,Founder and Owner Adamar and Andi Yuda, Founder of APTA Digital Marketing

Wayan Muliana in his opening remarks said that the Bali Tourism Polytechnic always supports students who want to develop into entrepreneurs or build businesses. The Poltekpar provides facilities or facilitates it so that after studying at the Bali Poltekpar, students can immediately own a business.

“Well, the DESIGN OF THINKING STPreneur Workshop is a tool that can be used by students to develop themselves to find the right business for them to develop. There are many students of the Bali Polytechnic of Tourism who are studying while developing a business and some are successful in building a business after studying at the Bali Polytechnic of Tourism. “Of course this is also the hope of the alma mater that after studying they can immediately work or develop a business,” said Muliana.

Muliana also expressed his gratitude to the STPreneur Team, the Student Senate and the Bali Tourism and Tourism Entrepreneurship UKM for organizing this event while hoping that it would be consistent in its implementation and be able to produce quality young entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, Muliana invites the participants to make the most of this opportunity to learn, gain as much knowledge as possible from those who have been successful and find the right form of business to be developed and accepted by the market.

The same thing was also conveyed by the Chair of the Workshop Committee who is also the Head of the Entrepreneurship & Career Guidance Unit of the Bali Polytechnic of Tourism, I Putu Esa Widaharthana, SE., M.Sc. in the report. According to him, the Design of Thinking Workshop is important because it helps participants improve their creative and innovative thinking skills, improves collaboration and communication skills, helps build prototypes and product trials, increases focus on customers, and accelerates business innovation.

Esa also explained that this workshop activity was held for 2 days. With the first day’s material delivered by the resource person which is divided into 3 sessions. The first session is Ideation + Design Thinking Material, the second session is a business model canvas and the third session is Pitching Technique Material.

Whereas on the second day a pitching was held as part of the selection of candidate Batch IX STPreneur tenants.

The number of participants in this activity was 50 participants or 14 teams consisting of various study program representatives and collaboration between study programs at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic including the Hospitality Management Study Program (PPH) of 14 students, Tourism Destinations Study Program (DEP) of 9 students, Culinary Arts Study Program ( SKU) as many as 8 students, Travel Business Study Program (UPW) as many as 8 students, Room Division (DIK) as many as 4 students and Hospitality Accounting Management (MAH) as many as 4 students.

Putu Esa also explained that this workshop is also part of the early stages of selecting Tenant Batch IX candidates, which later the team that passes will have the opportunity to take part in Bootcamp activities for 3 days and 2 nights on March 17-19 2023. Then it will be continued with a mentoring/mentoring program for three months which starts at the end of March and ends in June 2023.

As is well known, this workshop is part of the selection stage for prospective tenants Batch IX STPreneur Bali Tourism Polytechnic, with the aim of Inviting students to think innovatively and creatively, Introducing the concept of customer-based innovation to students/workshop participants, Inviting students to identify and explore insights from customers, training students to collaborate in group dynamics and as an initial screening stage for potential tenants of Batch IX STPreneur.

In general, this activity is a follow-up to the direction of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, namely that 30% of graduates from the State University of Tourism are able to create jobs or open their own businesses so that they are able to build a new economy by improving the quality of human resources in the field of entrepreneurship.
