DENPASAR – Preparations for the highly anticipated Sanur Half Marathon 2026 are in full swing as run organizer Rajalari, part of the RajaMICE Group, and Prama Sanur Beach Bali, a subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia Group, held an audience with Denpasar Deputy Mayor I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa to discuss the details of the international sporting event scheduled for February 2026.
The event is expected to draw more than 10,000 runners from Indonesia and abroad, offering three categories: Half Marathon (21K), 10K, and 5K. Under the theme “Running in Harmony with Local Wisdom”, participants will enjoy a scenic course that highlights Sanur’s most iconic spots, including its legendary sunrise and coastal charm.
Denpasar Deputy Mayor I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa welcomed the initiative, calling it an important step in promoting sustainable, community-based tourism.
“Sanur Half Marathon 2026 is not only about world-class sports but also a platform to showcase culture, cuisine, and the warmth of Sanur’s community. The presence of thousands of participants will generate significant economic impact for locals while supporting our vision to position Sanur as a premier sport tourism destination,” he said.
Chairman of Rajalari, Panca R. Sarungu, emphasized that the event will be more than a race.
“We aim to deliver a unique running experience where participants feel the energy of Sanur’s sunrise, its natural beauty, and the hospitality of its people. We believe this event will become a new icon of Indonesia’s sport tourism, born from Bali,” Panca said.
