MANDALIKA  – Mandalika once again proves itself not only as a world-class racing stage but also as a platform for learning and human resource development for local communities. As a concrete step, PT Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), BPJS Ketenagakerjaan NTB Branch, and the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) today, ensuring social security coverage for volunteers serving at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in 2025.

The agreement guarantees that 2,073 volunteers engaged in various roles during international events at The Mandalika—ranging from cleaning services, waste management, and crowd control to marshals and hospitality—are now officially enrolled in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM) programs.

This protection includes medical care and compensation in case of work accidents, as well as death benefits for the families of volunteers who pass away from non-work-related causes. With only IDR 14,000 (approx. USD 1) per person per month, each volunteer gains access to comprehensive protection starting from the day of registration.

MGPA President Director, Priandhi Satria, highlighted the vital role of volunteers in the success of international events:

“Volunteers are an inseparable part of every international event in Mandalika. By providing protection through JKK and JKM programs, we want to ensure they can carry out their duties with peace of mind, safely, and securely,” he said.

Head of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan NTB Branch, Nasrullah Umar, emphasized that this collaboration reflects the government’s commitment to all workers, including volunteers:

“Social security is the right of every worker, including volunteers. We are proud to provide this protection, as they are crucial to the success of international events and a source of pride for Indonesia,” he stated.

Echoing the same spirit, Head of the NTB Manpower and Transmigration Office, Muslim, S.T., M.Si., underscored his office’s role in monitoring the agreement’s implementation:

“We appreciate MGPA and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s initiative to provide social security protection for volunteers. The Manpower Office will ensure they truly receive proper protection in accordance with existing regulations,” he affirmed.

Meanwhile, ITDC Operations Director, Troy Warokka, stressed that this initiative aligns with ITDC’s long-term strategy to build NTB’s human capital:

“For us, the success of international events in Mandalika is not only measured by global recognition but also by how NTB’s youth grow into globally competitive professionals. This protection ensures that their experience is safe and secure while opening opportunities for them to shine at other international events. This is Mandalika’s greatest legacy: nurturing local talent to compete on the world stage,” he explained.

The Cooperation Agreement will be valid for one year, from September 10, 2025, to September 9, 2026, and may be extended as needed. This initiative is expected not only to create a safer work environment but also to deliver sustainable benefits for NTB communities.

By extending protection to thousands of volunteers, The Mandalika further strengthens its position as Indonesia’s premier sport tourism destination, setting an example of how tourism investment can also serve as a powerful tool for empowering local human resources to compete globally.***
