BALI, ULTIMOPARADISO.COM – Bali officially welcomed the inaugural charter flight from Uzbekistan on Wednesday, 25 June 2025. The Airbus A330, operated by Uzbekistan Airways, landed smoothly at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, carrying 231 passengers — including 216 in Economy Class and 15 in Business Class.
This charter program was initiated by AsiaLuxe, a leading Central Asia-based travel company, in collaboration with Pegasus Indonesia Travel, the appointed Destination Management Company (DMC) in Bali. Scheduled to run through 24 August 2025, the program aims to strengthen tourism ties between Uzbekistan and Indonesia.
Natalia Saputra, General Director of Pegasus Indonesia Travel, stated in an official release that this charter flight marks a major milestone in enhancing tourism connectivity between Bali and Central Asia.
“This is a historic moment for Indonesian tourism, particularly for Bali. It is the first time a direct charter flight from Uzbekistan has arrived on the island. We hope this opens the door to future collaborations with other countries,” said Natalia.
All arriving passengers were welcomed with traditional Balinese hospitality, including frangipani flower garlands and warm smiles from the Pegasus Indonesia Travel team.
The inaugural flight also carried 13 bloggers and influencers whose presence is expected to amplify Bali’s visibility on Central Asian digital platforms. In addition, several travel agents joined the trip to explore Bali firsthand, including Almaz Travel, Adib Travel, Exclusive Holiday, Viar Travel, Perfect Travel, Ishonch Tour, and Mandarin Tour.
Operated by two pilots and eight cabin crew members, the Airbus A330 offers a total seating capacity of 265. This charter service not only provides direct and convenient access for Uzbek travelers to Bali but also represents a strategic step toward diversifying Bali’s visitor demographics.
The collaboration between AsiaLuxe and Pegasus Indonesia Travel demonstrates a shared commitment to delivering high-quality travel experiences and fostering sustainable inbound tourism growth in both Bali and Indonesia.
Over the past five years, the number of Uzbek tourists visiting Bali and Indonesia has increased significantly—from only a few hundred during the pandemic to several thousand in the post-pandemic period. According to data from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Tourism, arrivals from Uzbekistan to Bali or Indonesia reached 4,380 in 2023 and climbed to 4,590 in 2024.
With the launch of this charter flight in June 2025 and continued tourism promotion efforts targeting Central Asia, the positive trend of tourist arrivals from the region is expected to grow even stronger in the coming years. ***
