Angkasa Pura I Receives Subroto Award

JAKARTA, ULTIMOPARADISO – PT Angkasa Pura I has won the 2022 Subroto Award for Energy Efficiency (PSBE) organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia (Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources).

In the award which was held on Wednesday (05/10) afternoon, Angkasa Pura I won 2 awards in the 2022 PSBE, namely Rank 1 in the “Energy Management Category in Industry and Building Sub-Category of Large Buildings” which was achieved by Airport I. Gusti Ngurah Rai, as well as the 3rd place in the “Green Building Sub-Category Energy Saving Building” which was achieved by Yogyakarta International Airport.

In participating in this event, Angkasa Pura I sent representatives of participants consisting of Jimmy Yan Eka Putra Tampubolon and Abdullah Faqih Ulumidin who represented Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, as well as Panggih Kurnia Adhi, Ersan Wijayanto, and Fahmi Adhi Prayoga who represented Yogyakarta International Airport. .

The Subroto Award for Energy Efficiency (PSBE) is the highest form of award given by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to stakeholders who have successfully implemented energy efficiency, energy conservation, and greenhouse gas emission reduction programs.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I Faik Fahmi welcomed the award that was won enthusiastically. “The achievements achieved by the two airports managed by Angkasa Pura I are an affirmation and a form of appreciation for the Company’s commitment in realizing the mission of making a positive contribution to the environment,” said Faik Fahmi.

“I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali and Yogyakarta International Airport are two of our airports that conceptually and operationally pay great attention to aspects of environmental conservation, energy management, and water resource management. We are proud of this achievement, and are committed to continuing increase our contribution to environmental conservation,” he continued.

I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali is one of the infrastructure pilot projects for the implementation of the Energy Management System (EnMS) towards ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System which is a collaboration between the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Government of Indonesia. This collaboration program was initiated by the Directorate General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (DG EBTKE of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources) in 2021 ago.

With the implementation of the energy management system, until August 2022 I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport was able to save energy of 21,130,628 kWh or equivalent to electricity cost savings of Rp. 25,103,185,993 with the assumption of electricity costs of Rp. 1,188/kWh. I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport also recorded a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of 16,693 tons of CO2e.

Meanwhile, Yogyakarta International Airport is an airport managed by Angkasa Pura I which is designed, built and managed by taking into account aspects of environmental sustainability, including through the use of environmentally friendly utility devices, the application of energy management, and management of water resources. For these efforts, Yogyakarta International Airport is the first airport in Indonesia to achieve the “Gold” Greenship certificate from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) in 2021 ago.

Due to these efforts, Yogyakarta International Airport has succeeded in achieving electricity usage savings of up to 25.15% or 119.21 kWh/m2/year. This is equivalent to electricity cost savings of IDR 16.8 billion per year assuming electricity costs are IDR 1,065.78/kWh. Yogyakarta International Airport has also succeeded in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 14,093 tons CO2e/year, as well as saving water by up to 53.01% or 16.68 liters/person/day.

“We also use the two airports that we manage as pilots in the series of the 2022 G20 Summit. For Yogyakarta International Airport, we present and promote the realization of a green airport to delegates who attended the Energy Transitions Working Group agenda which took place at the end of last March. As for I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, as the airport which is the main gateway for the G20 Summit delegation in Bali, we have implemented a number of policies related to environmental conservation, one of which is through the construction of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS). to the eyes of the world through this grand event,” concluded Faik Fahmi.

For information, Angkasa Pura I as the winner of the PSBE award is then entitled to represent Indonesia in the ASEAN Energy Award and Clean Energy Ministerial Leadership Award event. ASEAN Energy Award is an annual ASEAN regional activity organized by the ASEAN Center for Energy (ACE) in order to promote the use of new and renewable energy and the implementation of energy efficiency and conservation in the Southeast Asia region.
