BALI – DPP Indonesian National Shipwoners’ Association (INSA) will hold the 2022 INSA Yacht Festival (IYF) at Benoa Marina Bali on 7-8 October 2022.

The national tourism sector is one of the sectors that experienced pressure at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Although now slowly rising, the support of all parties is needed to accelerate the recovery of the tourism sector.

INSA Chairperson Carmelita Hartoto said, IYF 2022 is a collaboration between the INSA DPP and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), as well as being a B20 side event before the B20 peak event which will be held in November.

In addition, IYF is a place to promote the domestic marine tourism industry to the world stage. IYF invites foreign and domestic tourists who love the sea to enjoy the beauty of the Indonesian sea like in Bali from a tour boat.

This is in line with the government’s efforts to succeed the Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP) program, of which four of the five DPSPs are marine tourism such as Lake Toba, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo and Likupang. And in order to support the government’s program through PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) making Benoa Harbor a Bali Maritime Tourism Hub which will be equipped with Cruise Terminal facilities, Yacht Club, offices and retail areas as well as art markets.

This event can also be used as a gathering moment for stakeholders in the maritime industry and tourism sector to promote their products and synergize in the context of developing Indonesia’s maritime economy.

“Hopefully this kind of event can continue to be sustainable, not only inviting domestic tourists and ship owners but also international ones. And we have high hopes, in the future the sea will become the daily life style of the Indonesian people,” said Carmelita at the INSA Yacht Festival (IYF) 2022, Bali, Friday (07/10/2022).

The event will be officially opened by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, and the Governor of Bali Province, I Wayan Koster.
This activity was able to run well thanks to the support of the Bali Provincial Government, Denpasar City Government (Tourism Office, Transportation Service), Bali Chamber of Commerce, and all relevant stakeholders.
Deputy General Chair III Nova Y. Mugijanto said, amid the existing potential, the domestic marine tourism sector is still faced with a number of challenges. One of them is the lack of optimal funding support for the procurement of tourist boats and marina infrastructure.

“Funding support that is more friendly with a long tenor and a competitive interest rate is very much needed considering that the business model in tourist boats and marinas is very capital intensive,” said Nova.

Nova said, another challenge faced in the development of marine tourism is the absence of a boat industry cluster in Indonesia which causes inefficient production supply chains, and the cost of ship insurance premiums on tourist vessels is also quite high.

In addition, the demand for the procurement of tourist boats is still minimal. Meanwhile, 70 percent of shipbuilding components are still imported, while domestically made components still need to be improved in variety and quality based on smart innovations to answer the needs of the latest technology.

All opportunities and challenges, continued Nova, in the marine tourism sector, both in terms of ships and marinas, will be dissected comprehensively in a talk show session at IYF.

“There will be talk shows with competent speakers who will provide insight for business actors and the general public regarding marine tourism in the country,” concluded Nova, who is also the Chair of the IYF 2022 Committee.

In addition to talk shows, visitors can enjoy music entertainment and fashion shows with the theme ‘diversity colors of the island’.

IYF also offers several package programs for visitors. For example, the Adventure Cruise package with the Aneecha ship at 13:00 – 16:00 WITA. In this package, guests can do snorkeling, sun-bathing, and standup paddling when the boat sails around the high seas.

In addition, there is the Sunset Retro Yachting Festive Party package which will sail the Aneecha ship from 17:30 to 20:30 WITA. Here guests can enjoy a Retro Disco party over the beautiful Bali sea.

No less interesting, IYF will offer the Pirates Sundown Party Package. In this package, guests can enjoy several entertainment treats aboard the magnificent Phinisi Sea Safari 9 ship in the Tanjung Benoa sea. ***go
