Celebrating  2nd Anniversary, Citadines Berawa Beach Bali Preserves Endek and Supports Local Artists

CANGGU – Citadines Berawa Beach Bali, a property of The Ascott Limited (Ascott) celebrates 2nd anniversary on Friday, 10 February 2023. This year’s birthday takes the theme “Denoting the Beauty of Endek”.

This event is coupled with several activities that focus on sustainability and preservation of Balinese woven fabrics, namely, Endek. Endek woven fabric is a traditional Balinese woven fabric that has been a part of Balinese society for generations.

Through “Denoting the Beauty of Endek”, Citadines Berawa Beach Bali also supports local artists and craftsmen to preserve Balinese culture, embrace MSMEs and provide Balinese cultural knowledge to guests with the hope that Citadines Berawa Beach Bali can help preserve Balinese culture and help the craftsmen’s economy traditional.

Citadines also invited Endek cloth craftsmen, wood sculptors and Balinese painters who were presented in the hotel lobby to be able to see firsthand the process of weaving Endek cloth or want to buy it in person.

Bogank Serpiyadi, General Manager of Citadines Berawa Beach Bali, said that as an expression of gratitude, we distributed food packages to 100 heads of families in need in Tibubeneng Village. Furthermore, there was also the release of 200 Banggai Cardinalfish fingerlings on Berawa Beach which involved the media, the local community, and all Citadines Berawa Beach Bali employees.

“We are very pleased to be able to celebrate  2nd anniversary by carrying out activities that are beneficial to the surroundings, not only for the community but also for the environment. As an expression of gratitude, we distributed basic food packages to 100 heads of families in need in Tibubeneng Village. “Furthermore, the release of 200 Banggai Cardinalfishs fingerlings was carried out on Berawa Beach involving the media, the local community, and all Citadines Berawa Beach Bali employees,” said Bogank Serpiyadi at Berawa Beach.

Banggai Cardinalfish is a protected fish species and belongs to the category of endangered species due to damage to its microhabitat. This seed release activity not only supports the government’s commitment to protecting biological resources and the environment, but also gives a sense of belonging to the local community to always keep Berawa Beach clean.

The series of events continued with beach cleaning activities using environmentally friendly tools. The event was closed by giving awards to travel agents who have collaborated and established good relations with Citadines Berawa Beach Bali.
